Meet The Team

Sameer Al Jaberi
As Head of Abu Dhabi Film Commission, Sameer Al Jaberi is responsible for all aspects of the entity, overseeing the rebate and locations departments as well as the industry directory and government support, which support the production ecosystem in Abu Dhabi.
Sameer has amassed institutional knowledge of Abu Dhabi’s unique and diverse locations, having previously worked as Head of Locations and Government Support. Because of this, Sameer has been supporting productions across all aspects of filming in Abu Dhabi and advised producers on location selection, recommending the perfect filming spots for Indian productions including Tiger Zinda Hai, Bharat, Saaho, Race 3 and Dunki.
In addition, Sameer has worked on numerous international productions such as F1® The Movie, Dune, Dune: Part Two, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One and Fallout, Fast and Furious 7, Top Gear, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens to name a few.

Julia Valentine
Julia heads up the Production Department in ADFC providing bespoke support to Producers to enable all types of production in Abu Dhabi. Recent productions supported include F1® The Movie, Now You See Me: Now You Don't and the Dune Franchise alongside multiple local and regional productions.
Previously Julia was Head of Production at twofour54, Abu Dhabi and service produced Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One and Bunty Aur Babli 2.
Julia has 30 years global physical production experience as a Producer/Line Producer and Head of Production spanning Studio Feature Films, Independent Feature Films, TV Drama & TVC’s.
She has managed large-scale productions in UK, Europe, MENA, Southern Africa & the Caribbean for Amazon, BBC, BFI, Channel Four, Disney, ITV, Lucasfilm, NBCU, Netflix, Paramount, Sky and Sony with leading production companies such as Carnival Films, Heyday Films and Left Bank Pictures. Julia is a full voting member of BAFTA and the Production Guild of Great Britain.
